DoseUses

About DoseUses

An independent, plain-language reference on prescription and controlled substances.

DoseUses exists because people look up drugs at important moments: before starting a new prescription, when worried about a combination, when trying to stop, or when someone they love is in danger. The answers they find are often either too technical to use or not trustworthy. We write pages that are both accurate and readable.

What we cover

  • 50 prescription and controlled substances across seven clusters, from opioids and stimulants to psychedelics and emerging drugs such as nitazenes and xylazine.
  • What each is used for, how it is prescribed, and its risks, interactions, and overdose signs.
  • Withdrawal, and why tapering should happen with a prescriber.
  • The legal routes to a prescription, US legal status, and how to recognise illegal sellers.

What we don't do

We do not sell, supply, or ship medicines, and we have no affiliate relationships with pharmacies or telehealth providers. We never give dosing guidance for illegal drugs. We cannot give personal medical advice. For decisions about your treatment, talk to a doctor or pharmacist.
