Editorial policy
How we research, write, review, and correct every page.
Sources
We rely on primary sources: FDA-approved prescribing information, DEA rules and Federal Register notices, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the CDC, and guidelines from clinical societies. Every factual claim on a profile links to its source.
Prescription versus illegal drugs
For approved medicines, we summarize dosing exactly as the FDA label describes it, framed as how clinicians prescribe, never as personal advice. For substances with no medical route, we do not publish doses. We focus on risks, overdose response, the law, and where to find help.
Plain language
We write for adults without medical training. We define terms, avoid jargon, and put the most important safety information first.
Medical review
Profiles are published as drafts and marked noindex, which keeps them out of search results, until a licensed clinician has reviewed them. Reviewed pages show the reviewer's name and the review date.
Keeping up with the law
Drug law changed quickly in 2026. We date every profile and update legal sections when the DEA, FDA, or Congress acts.
Independence
We do not accept payment for coverage, sell medicines, or use affiliate links.
Corrections
If you find an error, please contact us. We review every report and update the page and its date when we make a correction.
