Withdrawal timelines

Stopping some substances after regular use causes withdrawal. Choose one to see what to expect and when, then read the full guide for tapering advice.

Don't stop sedatives suddenly

Abruptly stopping benzodiazepines, barbiturates, GHB, or high-dose gabapentinoids after regular use can cause seizures. Talk to the prescriber first.

Tolerance falls fast

After a break from opioids, tolerance drops within days. Returning to a previous dose can be fatal. Keep naloxone nearby.
